Renewable Heat Incentive
Renewable Heat Incentive - 20 YEARS TAX FREE INCOME: Uk government renewable heat incentive launches April 2011, it will provide a set rate of tax free income from energy suppliers for every kilowatt hour (kWh),18p/kWp for every unit generated for solar hot water.
How it will work: Payment per kWp for all thermal energy generated, these payments come direct from your local energy suppliers.
Who will benefit?: Anyone who generates thermal energy from solar, and had their system installed after April 2009 will be entitled to the Incentive Scheme for all thermal energy they produce.
The benefits of Solar Thermal
Flat bed plates use a simpler technology, a thin panel usually black with a glass pane over the top to stop the heat escaping into the air, this maximises the transfer of heat to the hot water cyclinder. When the sun shines directly onto the panels they have the maximum plate surface area exposed to the sun.
From March - October you may not need to use your boiler to heat your hot water, in winter the solar assistance will continue to reduce the need for your boiler to fire up throughout the day.

Getting solar installed
Don't worry if your boiler isn't up to date, we can install a more efficient solar compatible boiler as part of the installation. South facing or south-east roof are ideal Even roof that are east or west usually offer up to 85% of the technology you need for a overall good performance. If you live in a listed building or a conservation area you will need to check with your local planning officer. Combi Boilers Combi boilers are plausible but we will need to install a hot water tank. Providing you have enough space for the tank to be re-installed then it is possible to have the system fitted |

Our installations use an in-direct method of heating your hot water via a glycol or antifreeze mixture, therefore freezing will not be a problem.
Does my roof have to face directly south?
South is the optimum and southeast and southwest are fine.
A word about quality
There are some companies who are importing and selling poor quality systems in the Uk. Undoubtedly a cheap option would in the long run be a false economy, as far as longevity and performance. We refuse to sell sub-standard systems to our customers.
